Context
As Gorgias keeps growing, we’re having more and more leaders (senior ICs and M4+) who will have a direct impact on shaping Gorgias and Gorgias culture.
We will promote and hire those leaders and for that reason, it’s important to align on what we expect from them.
Overview
This doc aims to share a clear vision of what we expect from a Leader at Gorgias.
We want to rely on these guidelines when:
- We hire Leaders to make sure they match our expectations
- We promote team members to senior levels so that they adopt the right behavior
- Identify internal talents during ‣ to cultivate them as future leaders of Gorgias
Operating principles
As a Leader at Gorgias, we expect you to:
1️⃣ Hold the bar high for talent density
- You hire the best talents. You teach them to move fast and be open to feedback. You are politely relentless.
- You accelerate the pace and are the guardian of that level of intensity while maintaining psychological safety.
- You embody the Gorgias values and you are an example to follow for your team. You are humble, and you create an inclusive environment for all. You condemn every behavior that is not aligned with that statement.
2️⃣ Be customer-obsessed
- The #1 thing you prioritize is serving our customers, even at the expense of your own goals, challenging the status quo, or accepting to be made uncomfortable.
- You view other leaders as sponsors and resources to achieving your goals: in a multi product environment, you believe that we win as a team and you generate buy-in among all groups
